Legacy

Margaret Mills Buckle born Margaret Lantray Mills to her late parents James and Elizabeth Mills on May 30th, 1934; she received her secondary and high school education from St. Theresa’s Convent in Monrovia, Liberia. “Tray” as she was affectionately called by her siblings was kind, generous and loving.  Baptized at an early age, she was a member of Trinity Cathedral Episcopal Church and the Eastern Star in Monrovia, Liberia.

Her Career landed her at the Ministry of Planning and Economic Affairs were she worked for many years until 1989, when the Liberian Civil War started.

Her first Marriage was to Wister Ford Coleman Sr. (Deceased) until 1957.

She was later married to Mr. Evaris R. Buckle on June 27th 1985, her husband of 22 years until her death one day before their anniversary. They made a great team, family if you would walk with me down memory lane; the only yard in the city surrounded with coconut trees thanks to Aunty Tray and Uncle Connie. They planted those coconut trees around the yard (the trees were suppose to be short but ended up as talk as the house). Every other month Aunty Tray would have someone climb the trees and she would divide the coconuts all day, making sure we all got one. Decoration Day was always a blast, Aunty Tray was good at making wreath and Uncle Connie would get in his pick-up with us in the back and collect flowers.

Margaret Mills Buckle, a dedicated wife, loving and devoted mother, wonderful sister, and a fun aunt, grandaunt and friend, will truly be missed. She devoted her entire life to the well being of her children and grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memories: seven children Margareta, Patricia, Wister Jr., Edith, Ernestine, Mohamed and Ernest. Eighteen Grandchildren: Birdie, Bernita, Blanch, Benetta, Alex, Azzrial, Azzan, Calvin, Wister III, Tevin, Verna, Matennah, Angel, Korlu, Adrian, Kiara, Alyssa, and Ahmad. Two Great Grandchildren: Angel and Xavier. Sisters: Theresa Neal, Esther Jones, Edith Levett, Elise Amara and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was a passionate person who impacted many lives in a positive way. Her friends described her as a God fearing and loving person who showed concern about having a healthy relationship with them. She was very opened, helpful and pleasant to be around. She never said no and did every thing possible to help anyone in need at any given time. She will always be remembered.

Aunty Margaret, we miss and love you, you will always have a place in our hearts.
Rest In Peace Our Dear, Rest In Prefect Peace – Till We Meet Again
